Participation is the central axis of Jerez’s bid process for European Capital of Culture in 2031. This strategy will increase the intensity and significance of its actions in the coming weeks with the convening and holding of forums for ideas and projects, starting with the Jerez 2031 Forum, which, with the participation of more than 350 stakeholders from the cultural, creative, and heritage sectors of the city and the province of C\u00e1diz, was held today at the city’s Atalaya Museum.<\/p>\n\n
The event, which was attended by representatives of the Governing Council of #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture (the Mayor of Jerez, Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Garc\u00eda-Pelayo; the President of the C\u00e1diz Provincial Council, Almudena Mart\u00ednez; the Rector of the University of C\u00e1diz, Casimiro Mantell; and the President of the Jerez Chamber of Commerce, Javier S\u00e1nchez), was organized with the aim of launching a new phase of the candidacy’s participation process. Through dialogue and co-creation, the event will flesh out ideas and projects that will distinguish the content of the cultural program for the European Capital of Culture bid through innovation, differentiation, and utility. This is also a meeting and dialogue point that #Jerez2031 aims to open to the general public.<\/p>\n\n
In this context, the coming weeks are key to fine-tuning the content of the cultural program, as the #Jerez2031 forums constitute a second level of work. They are conceived as specialized spaces for meeting, exchange, and dialogue and will allow, in two phases, to work consecutively in two laboratories: Ideas Lab (first) and Projects Lab (next).<\/p>\n\n

Consequently, once the most consensual, relevant, and innovative ideas aligned with the candidacy’s purpose and the spirit of the EU European Capital of Culture initiative have been selected, it will be time to study, within the Project Labs, their implementation, feasibility, and inclusion in the #Jerez2031 cultural program.<\/p>\n\n
During F\u00f3rum Jerez 2031, various professionals from the #Jerez2031 Technical Office participated to explain the candidacy’s new visual identity and website and the “Jerez is Culture. You are CAPITAL” communication campaign launched to coincide with this event (Francisco Perujo), the cultural program (Antonio Javier Gonz\u00e1lez), and the participatory process (Amparo Rodr\u00edguez), as well as municipal technicians (Eva Antona), from the Provincial Cultural Foundatio (Manuel Rodr\u00edguez Alonso), and from the cultural consulting firm Opium (Carlos Martins).
