The deadline for submitting scholarship applications for the Jerez 2025 Summer Courses, which will be held between September 15 and October 2, jointly organized by the International University of Andalusia, the University of C\u00e1diz, and the City Council, remains open until August 15. The content and objectives of the five seminars scheduled for this first edition have a common thread with the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid.<\/p>\n\n
The Mayor of Jerez, Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Garc\u00eda-Pelayo, the Rector of the International University of Andalusia (UNIA), Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Garc\u00eda, and the Rector of the University of C\u00e1diz (UCA), Casimiro Mantell, presented these new Summer Courses last June. At that event, the existence of this grant, worth \u20ac4,000, was announced, aiming to make this university education available to all students.<\/p>\n\n
These grants are aimed at a very broad profile of applicants: students from the UCA and UNIA, students with scholarships or grants for undergraduate or master’s degree courses, people who are unemployed, those in large families, or those under absolute orphan protection, retirees and pensioners, victims of domestic violence, gender violence, or terrorism, people with disabilities, recipients of the Minimum Living Income, or those who can demonstrate a situation of social or economic disadvantage, among other profiles.<\/p>\n\n
The purpose of the grants is to exempt the tuition fee for a selected seminar (excluding fees or administrative services such as opening a file and issuing certificates, which amounts to 8 euros). These grants are open to applicants who have been admitted through the established access procedures and formally enroll in one of the academic activities included in the course program:<\/p>\n\n
– Gypsies, Jerez, and Flamenco: The Great Equilateral Triangle of Inclusion Through Culture<\/p>\n\n
– The Historical Construction of Traditional Cuisine<\/p>\n\n
– Communication and Territory: Strategies for Rural Development and the Local Identity of Jerez<\/p>\n\n
– History and Historical Novels<\/p>\n\n
– Tourism, Sustainability, and Innovation: Strategies for Responsible Development<\/p>\n\n
The terms and conditions of the call establish that the grants will be awarded in accordance with the principles of publicity, transparency, objectivity, equality, and non-discrimination, through a competitive process. 5% of the total budget will be reserved for applicants with a disability greater than 33%.<\/p>\n\n
Applications must be completed using the standardized online form established by the UNIA, which can be obtained at the following link: https:\/\/becas.unia.es. This form must include the relevant documentation and proof of certain personal circumstances, such as having a large family, unemployment, or retirement, among others.<\/p><\/p>\n\n
For the purposes of the evaluation, applications for scholarships and grants covered by the call will be taken into consideration, based on socioeconomic status and academic qualifications (50%).
