The works of Jerez natives Alicia N\u00fa\u00f1ez and Santiago Gonzalo \u201cBronquio\u201d have been recognized as Best Animated Short Film for \u201cOne Way Circle\u201d and Best Original Score for \u201cGolpes,\u201d respectively, at the Carmen Awards ceremony for Andalusian cinema held this Sunday at the Granada Conference Center. \n<\/p>\n\n
Thus, the Andalusian Film Academy has once again recognized the talent, creativity, and quality of Jerez’s artists. This reality highlights the potential of the city’s diverse cultural agents and sectors as it prepares to become a candidate for European Capital of Culture in 2031. \n<\/p>\n\n
Alicia N\u00fa\u00f1ez Puerto, for her part, is a producer and director nominated for a Goya Award for “La Primavera Siempre Vuelve” (Spring Always Returns). She is also a full member of the Spanish Film Academy and has worked on more than 30 productions for companies such as Aardman Animations, BRB Internacional, and \u00c1nima. She co-founded MIA, the Association of Women in the Spanish Animation Industry, and was its first elected president. Currently, she heads the Development Department at \u00c1nima Estudios and is the co-executive producer of Warner Bros.’ “Aztec Batman.” “One-Way Cycle” is her second short film as a director. \n<\/p>\n\n
Meanwhile, under the Bronquio label, lies the audiovisual creativity of Santiago Gonzalo, from Jerez. His career has grown rapidly since the release of his first single, \u2018Galgo\u2019, which featured Pablo Pe\u00f1a (Pony Bravo, Fiera). He has subsequently released singles such as \u2018Ni\u00f1o\u2019, \u2018Tu portal\u2019, \u2018Bodega Ultra\u2019, \u2018Est\u00e1s chill\u2019, and \u2018Bochorno\u2019. In 2020, he released two EPs, \u2018Vol. 1\u2019 and \u2018Vol. 2\u2019, and in 2021, he first released the single \u2018La Retama\u2019 with Nita from Fuel Fandango, a preview of the EP \u2018Vol. 3\u2019, which includes collaborations with Cris Belako and the Portuguese artist Maria Amor. At the end of the year, two singles (\u2018Fui a comprar a la c\u00e1rcel\u2019 and \u2018Granada\u2019) will be released, anticipating his first full-length album with 41V1L, due out in 2022. This same year, he will release the LP \u2018Tercer Cielo\u2019 with Roc\u00edo M\u00e1rquez. The artist himself directs some of the music videos that accompany his singles.
