The Cultural Council of the Jerez 2031 candidacy, European Capital of Culture (ECoC), met again today to, among other things, review the current status of the bid process following the presentation of the bid book last December and to analyze the various documents prepared in recent months to assess the state of the cultural ecosystem in the city and province.<\/p>\n\n
Specifically, during the meeting, the members of the Cultural Council learned about the key aspects of Jerez’s candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture in 2031. Most importantly, they took the first step in the process of sharing the results with the province’s cultural ecosystem. This involved not only acknowledging their commitment and participation but also going a step further by presenting and distributing the complete set of documents produced by #Jerez2031. This will provide an in-depth understanding of the current state and potential of cultural activities and consumption, as well as an updated map of cultural facilities and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n
The aim of this effort is to share the results of the bid’s work with the public. These documents, accessible with just a click through the #Jerez2031 website, will be useful to both those most closely involved with the project and the wider community. In this way, the aim is to highlight the work carried out in recent months, which, in this case, has resulted in a series of new documents essential to the candidacy’s cultural strategy: the Revision of the Jerez Strategic and Cultural Plan, the Study of Cultural Practices and Habits, and a comprehensive map of infrastructure and resources structured in three areas: cultural facilities, other facilities, and the cultural ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n
Specifically, an information session is scheduled for next Monday with the cultural, educational, and heritage sectors of Jerez and the province of C\u00e1diz to present this map of new resources in detail. Its scope extends beyond the actions of the 2031 European Capital of Culture candidacy itself, aiming to provide innovative and up-to-date tools that will benefit the surrounding cultural ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n
The meeting of the Cultural Council was chaired by Francisco Zurita, Delegate for Culture, Major Events, Historical Heritage, and the European Capital of Culture bid, and included the participation of members of the Technical Office and the Technical Assistance team for the candidacy.<\/p>\n\n
