The thousands of fans traveling to Jerez this weekend to enjoy the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix will be able to wear a badge or sticker featuring the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid on their jackets or affix to their helmets. A QR code will be used to access the website and offer their support by individually signing the declaration of support.
Thus, the #Jerez2031 Technical Office, in coordination with the City Council, plans to launch the “Dando la chapa” (Giving the Badge) campaign, coinciding with the massive influx of visitors for the Spanish GP. This campaign will allow visitors to literally wear a badge with the image of the 2031 European Capital of Culture bid.
To this end, a stand with information on #Jerez2031 has been scheduled to be set up in the Alameda Vieja next to the Alcázar Palace during the afternoons between today, Thursday, and next Saturday. The objective of this initiative is to raise awareness of the bid among the thousands of visitors who ride their motorcycles through the streets of Jerez during the GP. At the same time, this action once again highlights the city’s proven ability to organize and host major international events.
