Cultural Strategy #Jerez2031
Jerez has a robust cultural strategy. The city made culture a strategic priority years ago and developed a plan that, thanks to its bid to become the European Capital ofCulture 2031, has now been strengthened with a reviewand update aligned with the #Jerez2031 goal.
On this website, we provide citizens and all cultural and educational sectors in the city and province with access toall these strategic documents resulting from thecandidacy process.
Review of the Jerez Cultural and Creatives Strategic Plan
Since Jerez’s candidacy to become European Capital ofCulture, a review of the Jerez Cultural and Creative Strategic Plan has been undertaken. This update and revision was conceived not only as a technical update butalso as a tool to improve implementation, strengtheninstitutional legitimacy, and align with European standardsof good governance, results-oriented planning, and accountability.
This review responds to a specific need: to incorporatethe dimension and requirements associated with theJerez 2031 European Capital of Culture (ECoC) candidacy, a layer of projection, governance, and internationalization that was not explicitly included in theoriginal formulation. This effort allows the PECCJ’soperational deployment to be aligned with therequirements of coherence, partnership, participation, European dimension, communication, monitoring, and evaluation inherent in the ECoC framework.
This forward-looking update is based on the initial 2020 Strategic Plan document.
Maps of cultural facilities
In parallel, the #Jerez2031 candidacy has worked hard toprovide the cultural sector and the public with a new and much-needed resource: an updated map of cultural facilities.
This new map of Jerez’s cultural facilities and infrastructure highlights the work carried out during thecandidacy to become the European Capital of Culture 2031 and showcases the scale and scope of this networkof public and private infrastructure.
Study of cultural habits
We would like to thank the more than 500 people from theprovince of Cádiz who participated in the Survey ofCultural Habits and Practices, launched by the#Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture candidacy. Now, we are reciprocating their effort and commitment bypublishing a document that compiles the results.
This required the implementation, over several weeks, ofa structured and standardized online questionnaire withclosed and semi-open questions, using a random samplewithout quotas. Its dissemination and promotion ofparticipation were supported by the bid website and social media campaigns, including collaboration with opinionleaders and influencers.
As a result, we now have useful and up-to-date information on cultural practices, frequency ofparticipation, access channels, perceived barriers, and evaluation of the cultural offerings. This valuableknowledge adds significant value to the work carriedout by #Jerez2031 during the bid process and isessential for developing our cultural program.
