City Council and UCA advance in the opening of the Technical Office for the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture Candidacy

The city of Jerez continues to take firm steps in the process of configuring its bid for European Capital of Culture 2031. Following the agreement recently signed between the Jerez City Council, the Cadiz Provincial Council, the Chamber of Commerce, and the University of Cadiz (UCA) to provide #Jerez2031 with a governance structure with the creation of its Governing Council, progress is now being made on opening the technical office.

This was the objective of the working meeting held between the City Council and the UCA this Friday to advance the launch of the technical office, which will be the unit responsible for preparing the candidacy documentation, as well as its cultural programming, participation, and communication plans.

On behalf of the UCA, this technical office will be composed of Dr. Antonio Javier González Rueda (a graduate in History and a diploma in Library and Information Science from the University of Granada and a university expert in Cultural Management Programs), who will be responsible for the Candidacy’s cultural programming; and Francisco Perujo Serrano (a PhD in Journalism and Director of the Communications and Marketing Office at the University of Cádiz), who will be in charge of the Candidacy’s Communications Department. Both will begin working in the Technical Office in the coming days.
