Jerez adds The Sherry Gallery to its network of cultural infrastructure today

#Jerez2031 is in luck. Last week, the news of nearly €12 million in European EDIL funds was confirmed, largely to strengthen the bid’s cultural facilities. Today, it adds a new asset with the inauguration of The Sherry Gallery, a renovated three-story building located in the central Plaza de La Asunción. Its activities will be divided into three basic areas: permanent exhibitions, conventions, and restaurants. In this way, the city adds a new facility to its network of cultural infrastructure, and does so with the support of private initiative.

Among its highlights, The Sherry Gallery will exhibit more than 17,000 objects from the Roberto Arnillo collection, comprising all kinds of posters, bottles, photos, labels, postcards, press articles, and advertising materials from the Jerez region. At the same time, it will include Francisco Odero’s label collection.

This new exhibition space, which strengthens the city’s museum offering, clearly embraces new technologies so that visitors can consult and view the labels through interactive screens. It reflects the key role played by citizens and private initiatives in providing content, activities, and facilities for the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid.
