Jerez celebrates the 25th anniversary of the raising of the Rainbow Flag and presents the poster for International LGBTQ+ Pride Day 2026

Jerez is an open, tolerant, and diverse city. These are the values reflected in its popular and participatory culture, which form the core of the city’s candidacy to become European Capital of Culture in 2031 and which are now reinforced by the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the raising of the Rainbow Flag in the city.

To continue working together towards this goal, the City Council, Jerelesgay, and Pandora Club are moving forward with the commemorative program for International LGBTQ+ Pride Day 2026, which already has an official poster, in a year that marks the 25th anniversary of the raising of the Rainbow Flag in Jerez.

The unveiling of this poster, designed by Daniel Diosdado, took place at the Sala Compañía, on an afternoon where music, commitment, and emotion came together to commemorate the achievements of the past 25 years and the goals still to be realized in order to eradicate all forms of harassment and discrimination against LGBTQIA+ people. The Pride 2026 program of activities will be held in the city from June 5th to 13th.

With the slogan “25 years raising diversity, equality, and activism,” the poster prominently features the rainbow flag and showcases one of the city’s most emblematic buildings, the Gallo Azul (Blue Rooster), which this year incorporates the remaining colors of the flag in its various windows. The poster gives prominence to the LGBTQIA+ community.

The event included a presentation by Deena Cintron and performances by Naomi Natrix and Rosse Diavalon.
