Jerez celebrates the 28th Jerez International Puppet Festival in the streets and shop windows

This event, organized by the Teatro de la Gotera de Lazotea, transforms the shop windows of the city center into theatrical stages.

Culture is the central thread of the city of Jerez. In this case, quite literally. The city is celebrating the 28th Jerez International Puppet Festival, which, between November 18 and 23, features some twenty performances in public spaces in the city center, the Teatro de La Gotera de Lazotea, and the surrounding rural neighborhoods. This series of events encourages citizen participation and reinforces the city’s international profile through top-tier cultural and educational activities.

Thanks to the collaboration between Teatro de la Gotera de Lazotea, the Jerez City Council, and the Jerez Association of Merchants, Hospitality, and Service Companies (ACOJE), the program of activities includes a Puppet Exhibition in shop windows, where visitors can see the characters from the stories that will be performed throughout the Festival.

This initiative fully aligns with the concept of #2031 European Capital of Culture, which prioritizes a participatory project open to all citizens and audiences.
