This is an open, popular, and participatory event, aligned with the #Jerez2031 candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture.
The city of Jerez once again pays tribute to its most universal artist with the celebration on Saturday, January 24th, of the third edition of “Los Balcones de Lola,” a now well-established event on the cultural calendar, dedicated to Lola Flores. This edition is special as it coincides with Jerez’s designation as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2026 and with the city’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture in 2031, following the presentation of the bid book on December 26th.
This initiative constitutes an open, popular, and participatory cultural event that, in this way, aligns with the #Jerez2031 candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture.
The program for this third edition of “Los Balcones de Lola” will begin on Saturday, January 24th at 12:00 noon with a performance by Ismael de la Rosa and María Carrasco from the balcony of the Villapanés Palace, located at Calle Empedrada 2, in the heart of the San Miguel neighborhood.
At 1:30 p.m., María Terremoto will perform from the balcony of the City Hall, bringing her voice to the institutional heart of the city in a heartfelt tribute to Lola Flores.
The day will culminate at 2:00 p.m. with a “poderío toast” in the City Hall courtyard. Additionally, the Lola Flores Cultural Center, located in Plaza Belén, will hold its traditional Open House on January 21st.
The program for the 2026 edition of “Los balcones de Lola” has been presented by the deputy mayor, Jaime Espinar, together with the delegate of Culture, Francisco Zurita.
