Jerez closes the Book Fair with more than 14,000 participants, geared toward the European Capital of Culture bid process

More than 14,000 people participated in the Jerez Book Fair this year, held from October 3 to 6 at the Claustros de Santo Domingo, far exceeding the attendance figures recorded in previous editions, which were around 8,000. Thus, the Book Fair consolidates its success, reaffirming its role in the #Jerez 2031 European Capital of Culture bid process.

This event, which once again emphasizes the driving force of culture in energizing city activity, has also served to strengthen citizen participation and support for #Jerez2031, as more than 600 people—both residents of Jerez and visitors from other Spanish provinces and internationally—signed the Declaration of Endorsement for the bid. This has strengthened and expanded the base of citizen support, also including the names of writers and musicians who participated in the activities scheduled for this year’s edition.

On the other hand, the Book Fair is also an example of participation thanks to the dozens of collaborating entities: Carrusel Libros, Editorial Advook, Editorial Escape Book World, Editorial Fundación Anselmo Lorenzo, Editorial Peripecias Libros, Editorial Rhode Island, Editorial Tierra de Nadie, Grupo Bujalame libros de ocasión, Librería Agrícola, Librería Alavera, Librería Baobab, Librería Buen Pastor, Librería Flamencos de Tombuctú, Librería Laberinto, Librería Luna Nueva, Librería Luna Vieja, Librería La Maga, Servicio de Publicaciones de la UCA, Ateneo Siglo XXI, Bodegas Álvaro Domecq, Carbis, Centro Andaluz de las Letras, Centro de Profesorado de Jerez, Consejo Regulador de los Vinos de Jerez, Delegación Territorial de Desarrollo Educativo y Formación Profesional, Diputación de Cádiz, Editorial Anaya, Editorial SM, Escuela de Arte de Jerez, Fundación Ana García de Cuenca, Fundación Márgenes y Vínculos e Intermon Oxfam.
