Jerez Hosts International Training Week on Spanish as a Driver of Intercultural Dialogue in Higher Education

<p>This week, Jerez hosted the International Training Week on “Spanish as a Driver of Internationalization and Intercultural Dialogue in Higher Education.” This initiative, with the participation of local institutions and groups, was organized in line with the purpose of the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid.</p>

<p>The agenda of activities spanned five days, with the participation of professors and experts in the field to address various topics such as Diversity and Inclusion: Intercultural Dialogue as a Key to Social Cohesion; The University as a Space for Intercultural Encounter; and the Workshop “Cultural Bridges in Higher Education: Sharing Perspectives and Experiences.”</p>

<p>These working sessions have analyzed the UCA’s foreign experience as a model of academic and scientific cooperation and social inclusion. Several participating universities have participated in these sessions: Université de Skikda 20 Août 1955 (Skikda, Algeria), Université Alassane Ouattara (Bouaké, Ivory Coast), Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny (Abidjan, Ivory Coast), Université Abdelmalek Essaadi (Tetouan, Morocco), Universidad Iberoamericana – UNIBE (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), Higher Educational Institution Alfred Nobel University (Dnipro, Ukraine), Kyiv National Linguistic University (kyiv, Ukraine), Odessa National Polytechnic University (Odessa, Ukraine), Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (Mikolaiv, Ukraine), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (kyiv, Ukraine), Uzbek State World Languages ​​University (Tashkent, Uzbekistan).</p>

<p>This activity was coordinated by the Department of Philology and supported by the Vice-Rectorates for Internationalization and Sustainability and Culture, the Faculty of Social and Communication Sciences, and the General Directorate of Diversity of the University of Cádiz, as well as the Rector’s Office for the Jerez Campus.</p>
