<p>Going to the Jerez “Feria del Caballo” on the special buses that provide this public service to the public has a special meaning in 2025. It will be a journey we will take alongside the Roma people, one that began 600 years ago, as the Jerez City Council has screen-printed the exterior of these vehicles with the image commemorating the six centuries of the Roma people in Spain.</p>
<p>This event, which is part of the commemorative activities for the 600th anniversary of the arrival of the Roma people to our country within the framework of the @Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture candidacy, aims to highlight this shared history under the slogan “Essence of Jerez. 600 years” and, at the same time, underscore their contribution and model of inclusion to the living legacy of Jerez, Spanish, and European culture.</p>
<p>In this context, it is also worth noting that the 2025 edition of the “Feria del Caballo” is dedicated to the Roma people. The presentation of the fleet of vehicles bearing the campaign image was attended by the Mayor of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, along with members of the municipal government and representatives of the Roma people.</p>
