Wine culture is an enormous tangible and intangible heritage for Jerez. A renewed and participatory tradition culminates today with the grape treading at the Reducto de la Catedral, as part of the Harvest Festival 2025.
A cultural program that includes 30 activities for all citizens throughout the city will take place between August 30 and September 14, in line with the #Jerez2031 bid for European Capital of Culture.
The Harvest Festival is also an example of citizen participation, as its program would not be possible without the commitment of numerous economic, social, and cultural stakeholders in the city, such as the Wine Regulatory Council, Fedejérez, the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, and the numerous participating wineries, which allow for a wide range of guided tours, tastings, and visits.
Other activities during the Harvest Festival 2025 include concerts in the Plaza de Belén, the Rocking Sherry Festival (celebrating its fifth edition and featuring rock and roll concerts in the city center squares), the “Magic of Jerez” Festival, the guided tours “Jerez, Wine, and Historical Heritage,” the 1st “City of Jerez” Painting Competition, “De copa en copa”, the venencia” children’s competition, master tastings, and the 7th Blind Tasting of the Harvest Festival.
