#Jerez2031 advances towards its decisive phase with the boost from the Cultural Council

The Jerez 2031 bid to become European Capital of Culture (ECoC) continues to take firm steps towards its consolidation with a key meeting of the Cultural Council, the advisory body that represents the city’s cultural and institutional fabric at the provincial level. This meeting marks a turning point in the final stretch of the process, before the imminent submission of the bid book, scheduled for next December.

The meeting was chaired by Francisco Zurita, Delegate for Culture, Major Events, Historical Heritage, and European Capital of Culture, and included the participation of members of the Technical Office and the Technical Assistance team for the bid. During the session, the current status of the work carried out and the review of Jerez’s Strategic Plan for Culture and Creativity were presented.

According to Francisco Zurita, “the involvement of the Cultural Council from this stage onward is crucial to strengthening the project’s opportunities and ensuring its overall coherence and cohesion. In this way, the Cultural Council is consolidated as a space for dialogue, representation, and strategic thinking that reinforces the collective and participatory nature of the candidacy.”
