#Jerez2031 opens a dedicated participation space for young people to contribute to the candidacy’s cultural program

Young people are a cornerstone of the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid. Their observations, ideas, and projects are key to shaping a cultural program built on the participation of all the province’s cultural, creative, and heritage sectors. For this reason, the Technical Office has created a dedicated space to engage young talent and broaden the horizons and proposals of a bid that, from the outset, has sought to draw on their expectations, motivations, and creativity.

In this way, young people will have their own meeting place to contribute to the agenda of the new phase of the #Jerez2031 participatory process, which began recently with the holding of the Ideas Lab Social, Educational, and Cultural agoras, which are now reinforced by the dynamism, drive, and commitment of the province’s young creative talent.

Thus, the Ideas Lab Youth Agora for the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid will take place this coming Monday, July 28, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Jerez Chamber of Commerce Coworking Space.

A second Ideas Lab Culture agora is also scheduled for next Tuesday. The Technical Office of the bid has decided to double its sessions to facilitate the effective participation of interested parties, given the high number of registrants. Consequently, the Projects Lab forums have been postponed to the first half of next September.

The forums represent a second level of work following the celebration of the Jerez 2031 Forum on July 2nd. These are specialized spaces for exchange and dialogue with the goal of working consecutively in two laboratories: Ideas Lab (first) and Projects Lab (next). Once the first part of the process is completed with the celebration of the Ideas Lab, the Social, Educational, Cultural, and Youth Project Lab agoras will be held. Based on the contributions received, the content, activities, and projects will be defined and aligned with the different programming lines that will be included in the bid book for submission at the end of next December.
