The Technical Office of the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture candidacy and the Department of Culture of the Jerez City Council held an Information Session this afternoon with the cultural, educational, and heritage sectors of the city and province to explain the bid process following the presentation of the bid book last December and, above all, to present the set of strategic documents that, the result of the bid’s work over the past few months, are now available to the public and stakeholders. This includes the revision of Jerez’s Strategic Cultural and Creative Plan, the Study of Cultural Practices and Habits, and a complete and updated online map of facilities and infrastructure.
The aim is for these documents, accessible with just one click through the #Jerez2031 website, to be useful both to the sectors most closely linked to the project and to society as a whole. In this way, the goal is to highlight the work carried out in recent months, which, in this case, has resulted in a set of new resources essential to the candidacy’s cultural strategy.
This Information Session follows the meeting of the #Jerez2031 Cultural Council held last Friday, with the aim of outlining the key aspects of the feedback process by providing innovative and updated tools useful for the local cultural ecosystem.
During the Information Session, the Delegate for Culture of the Jerez City Council, Francisco Zurita, presented the city’s public cultural program for the first half of 2026, whose central focus is precisely its alignment with the goal of becoming the European Capital of Culture in 2031, thus initiating the deployment of a cultural program and strategy with a 2031 horizon. After the presentation of the new strategic documents and cultural program, a space for dialogue and exchange was opened with the participants to receive their observations and contributions.
