Culture is a bridge between countries and territories. Young people are essential in building the Europe of the future. With this dual purpose, the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture candidacy held a meeting with Erasmus and international students who have chosen the Jerez Campus of the University of Cádiz to pursue their studies this academic year.
The objective of this session, which included the participation of the Vice-Rector for Internationalization at the UCA, Marcela Iglesias, and various academic authorities, is to provide information on the application process and explain the purpose of a project that, drawing on the talent, creativity, commitment, and concerns of young people, is intensifying its agenda of contacts with priority audiences and international cultural and artistic institutions in recent weeks to strengthen the bid-book’s proposals and programming lines before its presentation on December 28.
Thus, the Technical Office of #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture has emphasized the importance of young people’s participation in the candidacy process and has invited the dozens of Erasmus and international students who will be studying for their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Cádiz in 2025/26 to take advantage of their academic stay and enjoy the culture of the city of Jerez and the province of Cádiz and, upon their return to their countries and universities, become ambassadors of #Jerez2031.
