The “Feria del Caballo” is a festive meeting point that brings together thousands of Jerez residents and visitors from all over Spain and much of the world each year. It is perhaps the most popular and massive expression of the city’s culture. An open and inclusive festival where there are no tolls and the booths are free to enter. Therefore, the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid has valued this festive and convivial setting as a privileged setting to promote and socialize the bid’s purpose and strengthen public support for the project.

In this way, #Jerez2031 aims to take advantage of the massive attendance at the fair so that citizens can celebrate the city’s hopes of becoming the European Capital of Culture in 2031 in a joyful and festive way. Thus, it plans to launch the “A toast to #Jerez2031” campaign during the fair, so that thousands of people can toast the candidacy with fino, amontillado, oloroso, or cream. Specifically, four groups of professional venenciadores, accompanied by support staff, will invite people to toast the #Jerez2031 candidacy at the main entrance to the fair (Álvaro Domeq Avenue) starting at 1:00 p.m. between Sunday and Wednesday of the fair.

Furthermore, as part of this promotional program for #Jerez2031 during the 2025 Horse Fair, an information space has also been planned at the Information Point of the City’s Tourism and Promotion Department, located next to the main entrance. Interested parties can quickly and easily download the candidacy’s manifesto via a QR code, thus further strengthening its social dimension.

Finally, #Jerez2031 plans to distribute specific candidacy merchandise during the “Feria del Caballo 2025 “. This includes thousands of hats and fans. This will not only provide relief from the sun and heat, but will also allow Jerez residents and visitors to showcase the image of a collective project conceived as an opportunity to transform the city and society from the south and through culture.

This set of actions is part of the candidacy’s socialization and participation strategy.
