<p>The Ateneo de Jerez organized a panel discussion on “Jerez de la Frontera: European City of Culture 2031?” to address the key aspects of the #Jerez2031 candidacy process and highlight the strategies implemented for participation, inclusion, sustainability, and the search for partnerships.</p>
<p>With the participation of representatives of the city’s social and cultural stakeholders, the Jerez City Council, the Social Council, the Parliament of Andalusia, and the University of Cádiz, this discussion forum addressed the European requirements for the candidacy. Among the central topics, the importance of inclusion, sustainability, and citizen participation in developing a solid cultural project with a European impact was highlighted.</p>
<p>In this context, the importance of cultural expressions reaching every corner of the city and its rural neighborhoods has been emphasized, fostering accessibility and the involvement of the community in the process, as participation is essential to shaping the content of #Jerez2031.</p>
<p>At the same time, the need to establish alliances with other European cultural cities has been emphasized to foster cultural exchanges. This not only allows for the sharing of experiences and best practices, but also promotes Jerez as a cultural benchmark internationally.</p>
