The Jerez Summer Courses are born as a forum for meeting and reflection on the issues that will mark the future of the European project

The Jerez City Council, the University of Cádiz (UCA) and the International University of Andalusia (UNIA) have joined forces to, with the support of the Regional Government’s Department of University, Research and Innovation, launch the Jerez Summer Courses, the first edition of which will take place in the second half of 2025 with the aim of non-aligned initiatives within the framework of Jerez’s candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2031.

Thus, the three institutions have sealed an agreement and have expressed in writing their commitment to promote and give continuity to this new forum for international meeting and reflection with the aim of addressing, from the fields of academia and culture, the major issues which will mark the future of the European project.

The institutional collaboration agreement for the creation of these seasonal courses has been signed by the Mayor of Jerez, María José García Pelayo, the Rector of the University of Cádiz, Casimiro Mantell, and the Rector of the International University of Andalusia, José Ignacio García, together with the Minister of University, Research and Innovation of the Andalusian Government, Juan Carlos Gómez.
