More than one hundred cultural stakeholders from Jerez and across the province of Cádiz began today to contribute ideas and projects at the participatory agoras organized by the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture Technical Office. This new, key phase of the bid’s participatory process began today with the Ideas Lab Social agoras. The work program will continue tomorrow and next Monday with the Ideas Lab Educational and Cultural forums, respectively.
Thus, the participatory process for the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid enters a crucial phase with the rollout of the schedule of sessions for the social, educational, and cultural agoras, aimed at finding ideas and projects that contribute to shaping the bid’s cultural program through dialogue, encounter, and debate.
The number of stakeholders from the social, educational, and cultural fields committed to #Jerez2031 and registered for these forums has made it advisable to double the number of sessions over the next two weeks to facilitate dynamic and participatory meeting spaces. Consequently, the Project Lab agoras will be postponed until the first half of September.
The forums represent a second level of work following the Jerez 2031 Forum held on July 2. These are specialized spaces for exchange and dialogue, with the goal of working consecutively in two laboratories: Ideas Lab (first) and Projects Lab (next). Once the first part of the process is completed with the Ideas Lab, the Social, Educational, and Cultural Project Lab forums will be held. Based on the contributions received, the content, activities, and projects will be defined and aligned with the different programming lines that will be included in the bid book for submission at the end of next December.
Thus, once the most consensual, relevant, and innovative ideas, aligned with the purpose of the bid and the spirit of the EU European Capital of Culture initiative, have been selected, it will be time to study, within the Project Labs, their implementation, feasibility, and inclusion in the #Jerez2031 cultural program.
