The city has presented the excellence of its gastronomic culture at a mass event attended by dozens of representatives of the city’s social, cultural, business, and economic groups, who supported an initiative integrated into the #Jerez2031 European Capital of Culture bid process.

The richness and uniqueness of the city’s popular gastronomy is another asset of a culture where the past and the future coexist in a constructive and inclusive dialogue. The gastronomic variety of Jerez and its culinary offerings, the excellence of its restaurants, endorsed by the Michelin Stars it has earned in recent years, the unique contributions of the Roma people to the city’s gastronomy, and the pairing of this heritage with the excellent wines of Jerez are some of the distinguishing features of Jerez’s bid for the Spanish Gastronomic Capital.

Promoted by the City Council, the bid has the support of all public institutions and sectors in the city: the Regulatory Council, the Jerez Hospitality Association, and the Jerez Destination Tourism Cluster, among others.
