Union representatives from the Workers’ Commissions (CCOO) and the General Union of Workers (UGT) held a meeting with the Mayor of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, to strengthen institutional collaboration in the city’s bid process for European Capital of Culture in 2031.

Among other matters, they discussed the launch event for the bid, which will take place this Thursday, the 18th, at the Atalaya Museums. This event will mark the launch of a shared challenge with significant social, cultural, and economic impact throughout the region. More than 300 people will participate in the event, including authorities, institutional representatives, Jerez civil society, and experts linked to other international bids.

Last week, the #Jerez2031 candidacy was presented to numerous mayors in the province. The aim is for the project to involve not only Jerez but the entire province, with the goal of ensuring that all municipalities and all citizens participate in a single forum with proposals and initiatives.
