This project, made possible thanks to the commitment of many individuals and groups, celebrates the legacy and dynamism of Jerez’s gastronomy and once again demonstrates its capacity to promote and lead national and international programs and events.

The ceremony, held in the City Hall’s main hall, was attended by the Mayor of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, who received the title from the President of the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy Association, Mariano Palacín, and Ana Poquet, Councilor for Tourism of the Alicante City Council.

In this way, Jerez reaffirms its commitment to promoting, recognizing, and disseminating its culture, including its gastronomy, which is capable of generating opportunities, employment, and wealth, and of attracting people from every continent. This event marks the beginning of an extensive program of activities that will take place throughout the year across the city, where tradition, innovation, past, and future come together thanks to the work and collaboration of the various sectors linked to gastronomy and hospitality.
