A few days ago, the Special Commission for European Capital of Culture was formally established at Jerez City Council. This is an institutional body representing all the political groups that make up the Municipal Corporation. It was created with the aim of jointly promoting Jerez’s candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2031. The creation of this commission reflects the spirit required for a project of this magnitude, conceived as a strategic commitment by the city and province.

More than 350 people are participating in the Jerez 2031 Forum, a meeting with the province’s cultural, creative, and heritage sectors. This event marks the beginning of a new phase of the participatory process. Cultural, social, and educational forums for ideas and projects are expected to be held in the coming weeks.

This communication action, presented during the Forum Jerez 2031, aims to increase participation and the sense of community, underlining the role of citizens as a real driving force in the process of shaping the candidature for the European Capital of Culture 2031.
